Breaking News Photography: New York Times e Reuters vincono il Pulitzer 2016

 

1916-2016 – Questa notte si è svolta la 100esima edizione, con relativa consegna, dei premi Pulitzer. Il New York Times, composto da Mauricio Lima, Sergey Ponomarev, Tyler Hicks e Daniel Etter, e la Thomson Reuters condividono il Premio Pulitzer Breaking News Photography per la copertura della crisi dei rifugiati in Europa.

Il team del NYT, ha deciso di seguire i migranti verso l’Europa: i quattro fotoreporter non hanno viaggiato soli ma in compagnia della famiglia Majid, che li ha accolti e gli ha permesso di seguirli da vicino in questa sfida che li ha visti attraversare nazioni e confini, dalla Grecia alla Svezia prendendo auto, treni e battelli e macinando km a piedi. Lo staff Thomson Reuters, che ha coperto la situazione a Cipro, è stato maggiormente rappresentato da Yannis Behrakis che ha contribuito con 8 delle 17 immagini vincitrici.
